The Green Inferno Eli Roth’s New Horror Project – Finally

Deadline is reporting that Eli Roth is going to direct The Green Inferno.  The screenplay was written by Roth and Guillermo Amoedo.  The film is based on a concept of Roth’s, but there are not any details about the plot.  Filming begins this fall in Peru and Chile.  This film might actually come to fruition since it already has financing.

Eli Roth is known for his films Hostel and Hostel 2.  It has been years since his last major directing job although it seemed like there was always talk of a project.  Unfortunately, those projects never turned into anything.

As far as The Green Inferno is concerned, some fans have tossed out the idea that it will be about cannibals in the jungle.  What do you think?

Horizon Movies Acquires Rights to Mr. Hush

Checking out Deadline today I happened to notice an article about Mr. Hush.  I’ve never heard of it, but Horizon Movies has acquired the North American rights.  Kudos to them.  What is more interesting though is the cover artwork for Mr. Hush.  It looks eerily familiar.  Hmm.  I know! Trick r’ Treat.  You know that awesome Halloween movie by Michael Dougherty. Read the rest of this entry »

Amy Adams to Star in Dark Places?

According to Deadline, Amy Adams is in talks to star in Dark PlacesPlaces is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same title.  Adams will play Libby Day.  Libby survived the massacre of her family when she was seven years old.  She then testified against her brother as the murderer.  The Kill Club is obsessed with solving mysterious crimes and the club questions Libby about what really happened when her family was murdered.  Sounds kind of interesting.  I think that I would want to read the novel first.

The Lords of Salem Trailer Online

It seems like we have been hearing about Rob Zombie’s The Lords of Salem for forever now.  When I first read the description for the film, I immediately thought of a trashed-up, r-rated version of Hocus Pocus.  While I am not a fan of Zombie’s version of Halloween, I was still interested in watching this flick.  Maybe I am a glutton for punishment?  After all, it took several viewings of House of a 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects for me to actually enjoy the films.  With that said, I was excited that Zombie was releasing something semi-new and creative sounding.

News spread that the trailer would show at one of Zombie’s concerts.  Of course this meant that it would be online in no time.  Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to see exactly what is going on.  I really cannot wait for a high quality trailer.

I’m not embedding the trailer here, but you can check it out here on Youtube.
